Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy has been used in Chinese Medicine for over 5,000 years. This involves applying suction with the aid of cups to the skin to help relax tight muscles, release adhesions and improves blood flow. The redness on the skin is a sign of improved circulation in the treated area. This treatment is combined with Deep Tissue massage techniques which allows the muscles to start their adaptations and recovery.

Muscle Scrapping

Muscle Scrapping (or IASTM) is a technique using specialised tools to help with muscle injuries, adhesions and soft tissue restrictions. Deep Tissue massage is used in combination with this treatment. Muscle scrapping is done by applying targeted pressure with these instruments which help break down scar tissue, improve blood flow, and promote the natural healing process. Redness is common post treatment due to breaks in the capillaries. This is normal whilst working on the top layers of the muscle fascia. Delayed onset muscle soreness may last 2-3 days.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is highly effective for relieving muscular pain and trigger point release (knots). Common conditions treated include back and neck pain, headaches,  lower body tightness and general stiffness.  This technique can be used as a stand-alone treatment for 45 min or can be combined with a 60 min Deep Tissue Massage.  Dry Needling is aimed to treat muscular pain and trigger points. This involves inserting multiple sterile, single-use acupuncture needles directly into myofascial trigger points i.e tight tender knots within the muscle. This may cause a sharp pain in certain movements, for example between the shoulder blades.  Some clients will get immediate relief while others maybe experienced soreness in the treated area for up to a week. This is completely normal.
