How to book an appointment?

Bookings can be scheduled online by clicking Book Online, Call or text 0896103700 or by emailing HCLSport.lucan@gmail.com.

What time should I arrive  for my appointment?

We recommend to arrive 5/10 minutes before your appointment to allow time to find parking and pay the meter if needed.

This is my first treatment. What should I expect?

Before coming to your first appointment, you will be sent a client consultation form via email/ text. This is to outline any medical conditions and any contra-indications. On arrival you will explain any injuries or soreness that you may have. A treatment plan will be designed if needed that will address your needs short, medium and long term. Then the treatment will begin.

What Should I wear?

You should wear something thin and loose fitting for example training shorts and a comfortable t-shirt. Any long hair should be tied back especially if the neck and upper back is the problem area. You may be asked to take off your top for work on the upper body and then covered with towels to ensure warmth, comfort and only exposing areas that are being worked on.

What are contra-indications? Do I need consent from my doctor or another medical practitioner?

Contra-indications and medical history are taken to see if there is any reason the treatment cannot take place. In the case of not being able to perform the treatment, medical consent may be needed. This is done through your Consultation form before you arrive for your first session.

Post Treatment

Can I claim back from my health insurance?

Sports massage/ Deep Tissue is recognised by most major Irish Health Insurance Companies. Please contact your health insurance to see if you are covered within your plan for an IMTA registered practitioner.

How will I feel after the massage?

Generally most people after a massage will feel more mobile and more relieved of any muscle pain. There is a chance that your body can feel tender for a couple of days after this is completely normal. Due to releasing toxins from the muscle we recommend that the client drinks plenty of water for the next 24hrs to flush out the body.

How many sessions will I need?

Our priority is to get you injury/ pain free as quickly as possible. It can depend on several factors including your body's ability to recover, are you doing the post massage exercises and stretches that are given or are you dealing with a more severe injury which will take a couple of sessions.
